Motorcycle Parking Only. No joking.

All through Central London neighborhoods, there are designated motorcycle-only parking spaces for motorcycles, scooters and trikes. There were streets where almost the entire block would be filled with two-wheeled vehicles. It was quite a site to see. I could only imagine that in the U.S., a scene like this would arouse mass suspicion that a bike rally was about to start with tattooed criminals and topless women soon to follow. However, in London, there was a civility to how motorcycles and scooters coexist, on the streets and in parking. Most of the scooters I saw were of the 4-stroke, 150cc to 300cc or over varieties and were quite capable of keeping up with motorcycles between stop lights. And everyone shared in parking in an orderly manner as to fit as many bikes in the designated spaces – almost to a fault in some cases as I'll share later.
