Stella Scooter:
Rear Rack w/ Grabrail and Foot Rest

I bought this used scooter from the Genuine Scooter Company in Chicago. It was in perfect condition with just a few miles on it. I had them install the grabrail and passenger footrest before I picked it up. Over the years, I let the battery die and just kick-start it now when I want to scoot. I read that the battery was essentially for the electric start (which was part of modernizing this old model Vespa, rebranded as the Stella). The engine is a 150cc two-stroke and it gulps down oil every season and is probably horrible for the environment. Dark exhaust and gas fumes are guaranteed with almost every start. But, it is so much fun!
I used to take my daughter on this Stella all through the city – until she got older and it wasn't cool for her to ride with me. I only put a few miles each summer on the scooter now. My bet is when my daughter turns 16, she'll want to ride on this again – without me.
